In Colorado you file for divorce by creating a petition and a summons. The petition and the case information sheet are filed with the court in the jurisdiction in which you and your spouse reside, and then the petition and the summons are also served on the other party. But that’s how it starts: filing a petition, summons, and case information sheet.
